at the National Final of the
Triumph Inspiration Award ’09
On May 28th 2009, twelve fashion and design finalists from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and The Raffles Design Institute presented their showpieces in a fabulous catwalk show at the Triumph Inspiration Award National Final ’09, the theme being >ICONS<, at Chamber, the “heart” of the iconic Arts House.
Ada Yeong, 24, from the Raffles Design Institute, convinced the judging panel to be the National Winner of the Triumph Inspiration Award ’09 with the design “Marchesa Luisa Casati” and walked away with not only $2,000 worth of cash and prizes, but including an all-paid expenses trip to Milan to represent Singapore in the International Final in September 2009!
Our distinguished judging panel from the fields of design, fashion and media, consisting of Ms Doy Teo - Director of Triumph International Singapore, Ms Tee Hun Ching – Editor of The Straits Times Urban, Ms Grace Lee - Editor-in-Chief of Nüyou, Ms Daphne Chen – Fashion Editor of CLEO, Ms Karen Kwa – Fashion Editor of L’officiel and Mr Vaughn Tan - International Fashion Designer.
The judges judged all entries according to the criteria: innovation and creativity in interpreting the design theme “Icons”, individuality and uniqueness, concept, aesthetics, quality in design and execution, as well as presentation.
